Personal, Practice: Media & Research online symposium

Tuesday 29th – Wednesday 30th April 2025
With talks on creative works about child sexual abuse & the cultural ramifications of creative works. Speakers: Sophie Olson, Dr. Claire Cunnington, Chris Godwin, Hazel K Larkin, Dr Brendan Rooney, Professor David Hanauer & Professor Emilie Pine
This launch event brings together people who have created creative works about sexual abuse in childhood and academic scholars who research the cultural ramifications of creative works. Its speakers include people with lived experience of sexual abuse in childhood and/or who work as academic scholars in a range of humanities and social science fields. Together they will discuss their creative works and their approaches to carrying out this work in a dialogue that will shed light on what is involved in these creative and research practices and how they can inform each other.
The project team gratefully acknowledge the generosity of the speakers in giving their time and expertise to supporting the project and its launch event. The project is funded by a European Research Council Starting Grant.
