— Reading Body of Evidence was a deeply emotional read, completed fully in one sitting, I was unable to put it down! Hazel takes the bold move of exploring and explaining her trauma by journeying through her body, literally from head to toe, inside and out. Each part becomes a witness to the pain she endured by the people who should have loved her the most and as always highlights the difference just one person can make to one’s life. This isn’t just a story of childhood trauma and CSA, Hazel continues to live with it, work through it and find moments of joy and connection and most importantly unconditional love. There is raw honesty, resilience and humour through her words. Body of Evidence is not the easiest read but it is an important one which explores the long term impact of CSA and trauma on the body mentally, physically and emotionally.
